  • MC Durrieu is INSERM research Director in the Institute of Chemistry & Biology of Membranes & Naoobjects (CBMN-UMR5248) at Bordeaux University. She is also Deputy Director of the Department of STS (Sciences and Technologies for Health) at the University of Bordeaux. Within the CBMN laboratory, MC Durrieu contributes to the leadership of the Chemical Biology & Supramolecular Chemistry (CBSC) team, which focuses on chemical science at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and materials science. She also coordinates the 3BIO research group, “BIOactive surfaces, BIOmaterials, BIOmimetic engineered surfaces,” within this team. The group synthesizes bioactive surfaces to favor membrane adhesion (cells, microvesicles …) for biological engineering (biomaterials, tissue engineering, drug delivery, diagnosis (cancer)).

MC Durrieu has published 150 international scientific articles and holds 6 international patents (2006, 2013, 2014, 2019, and 2024, with 2 licensing agreements).
Since 2000, Dr. Durrieu’s teaching duties led her to supervise 24 Master 1 students, 11 Master 2, 25 PhDs (including 13 joint PhDs, 3 PhDs in progress), 21 post-doctorates (1 in progress).

MC Durrieu's research activities contributed to the founding of EXOSTATICS, a start-up launched in 2021 in Barcelona (Spain), where she holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer (CSO).
