The Regional Research Network on Recomposed and Reconstructed Humans in Health (HR2S) was founded in February 2022 on the initiative of Professor Thierry Hauet, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Noël Richard, Professor of Image Analysis. It is the fruit of collaboration between all the universities in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, all of which are members of its steering committee. The network is part of the Regional Research Networks (R3) set up by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and is currently coordinated by the University of Poitiers. After a structuring phase, the network has been in a consolidation phase since summer 2024.
Based on the definition proposed by the World Health Organisation, the network aims to go beyond the initial concepts of repair or reconstitution and replace them with those of recomposition and reconstruction. As part of a global or single health approach, the network’s aim is to address all research issues relating to health and innovation in health (with the exception of cancer research) by fully integrating people and their health environments. The HR2S network therefore brings together the two dimensions of health, separated in Anglo-Saxon semantics by the terms ‘cure’ and ‘care’, with the aim of achieving a single global health.

Every month, the technical coordinator monitors calls for projects and directs them to the researchers concerned. He also identifies scientific prizes. When we do not identify any potential protagonists, the call for projects is nevertheless posted on our social networks (LinkedIn).
The main bodies for which the watch is maintained:
The network’s main function is to support researchers in drafting calls for projects. The aim is to maximise the chances of success by carefully re-reading projects, suggesting improvements and finding partners to join in. This support is individualised and is provided in close collaboration with the researcher or his/her team.
A network is a community. That’s why, on a daily basis, we try to build relationships with researchers from all the scientific disciplines recognised by the National Universities Committee. We also seek to establish regular links with companies involved in health-related issues. The idea behind the network is to bring together researchers working on similar themes, but who are sometimes geographically distant.
We are pursuing the idea of developing this community well beyond the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The idea of a community of researchers is not just to exchange ideas internally. The aim is to publicise research by organising scientific events of various sizes throughout the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. We provide support to researchers and their teams in organising conferences, seminars and research workshops.
We also attach great importance to forging links with the general public, which is why we regularly organise science outreach events across the region. Don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your ideas.
Researchers’ work sometimes goes unnoticed by the general public, so showcasing it on social networks is a way of raising its profile. We make a point of relaying information about your scientific and professional events as long as they are relevant to our health issues.
