Monday 6 May in Bordeaux:
At the forefront of research into reconstructive medicine

The Regional Research Network (R3) on Reconstructed Human Health (HR2S) is holding its launch event on Monday 6 May 2024, from 9.30am to 5pm at the Hôtel de Région in Bordeaux (14 rue François de Sourdis). The event will be hosted by Thierry Hauet and Noël Richard, the network’s coordinators.

Created in 2022, the HR2S network brings together research players to address the issues of reparative medicine, from identifying potential solutions to ensuring that innovation is accepted in healthcare. Restorative medicine, regenerative medicine, personalised medicine and predictive medicine are all part of the medicine of the future. This medicine requires the collaboration of specialists in bioengineering, digital technology, materials, biology, chemistry, physics and the clinic. The psycho-social
The psycho-social, legal and ethical dimensions are also present in a cross-disciplinary approach.

R3 HR2S is part of the ‘One Health – Une seule santé’ strategy, the regional health roadmap (2023-2028), and in particular responds to the regional priority of perpetuating New Aquitaine’s role in health innovation.

This network brings together around 105 researchers and teacher-researchers, spread across 47 research units in the region, notably at the Universities of Bordeaux, La Rochelle, Limoges, Pau and Poitiers. This network, supported by the University of Poitiers, is coordinated by Thierry Hauet, professor at the University and CHU of Poitiers, with the support of Noël Richard, lecturer at the University of Poitiers, and led by Aymeric Le Corre. Restorative medicine requires innovation to better Predict, Acquire, Model, Diagnose, Recompose, Reconstruct and Repair the human body. All these actions, which are complex and multidisciplinary in nature, require regional academic skills to be mobilised and brought together.

In this context, the HR2S network aims to structure the regional scientific community with expertise in the various fields of reparative medicine, to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and to accelerate the transfer of results to the socio-economic level.

The day of May 6, 2024 is therefore an opportunity to bring together the Nouvelle-Aquitaine stakeholders around health innovation. This event will close the start-up phase of the network, which was supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, and will make it possible to collectively build the action plan for the consolidation phase, which will be submitted to the elected representatives for a vote on July 8 for the next 4 years.

The day will open with a speech by Alain Rousset, President of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Council, followed by those of Gérard Blanchard, Vice-President in charge of research, higher education and technology transfer, and Françoise Jeanson, Vice-President responsible for health and the silver economy. The day will focus on several key issues for the R3 HR2S:

The interconnection between the R3 and the skills and competitiveness clusters with an
intervention by the Strategic Health Department of the Alpha-RLH cluster, and the Health Innovation Alliance (ALLIS-NA)

The interconnection between the R3 and the issues of aging well with the presentation
of the regional strategy and the Living Lab on aging better at home,
The integration of the patient in health research and in the management of the health pathway,
The integration of society’s fears, rejections and blockages in the face of health innovations,
or how to anticipate to accelerate the integration of health innovations for the benefit of the
patient.
